On April 6, the Succession, Retention & Recruitment SWLM Subcommittee met (consisting of PEF Representatives and Representatives of NYSIF Administration). It was a positive and productive meeting.

We reviewed the number and titles of staff eligible to retire and are now in the process of formulating a plan to address the staffing needs that this presents.

PEF presented to administration of our arguments for a reallocation of the SG-18 titles to higher grades. The Subcommittee agreed to begin to put “pen to paper” on this issue. This process will be lengthy due to the complexity of some of the issues we need to reach agreement on and ultimately seek approval for.

PEF raised the desire to explore Geographic Pay Differential for the SG-18 titles while the reallocation process plays out and to address the recruitment issues in these titles we are currently facing. The Subcommittee will be working to gather the data needed for this.

The Subcommittee’s next meeting is on May 17, 2023.
