PEF Division 240 is conducting its annual College Scholarship Contest.
Up To 9 Scholarships awarded*. 2 $1,000 Awards; 2 $500 Awards;
2 $325 Awards; 2 $125 Awards & 1 $100 Award.
Scholarships Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a PEF member of Division 240 or their dependent or their immediate family member (Mother, Father, Son, Daughter, Spouse or Domestic Partner).
- Applicant MUST provide proof of Full Time or Part Time Enrollment at an Accredited College or University for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023, or a College Acceptance letter for Fall 2023 to an Accredited College or University.
Applicant must submit an essay using the Theme of “The COVID19 Pandemic has Resulted in many jobs implementing or expanding Telecommuting/Work from Home jobs. What are some positive and negative aspects of Telecommuting/Work from Home jobs?”
- The essay must be between 600 – 1,000 words (@2-4 pages). The essay MUST be double-spaced typewritten.
- Full Time Students: The essays will be reviewed, and the highest scoring 2 essays will be chosen as winners to receive a $1,000 Scholarship each. All remaining essays will be submitted for a random drawing with 1 $125 Scholarship winner chosen at random.
- Part Time Students: The essays will be reviewed, and the 2 highest scoring essays will be chosen as winners to receive a $500 Scholarship each. All remaining essays will be submitted for a random drawing with 1 $125 Scholarship winner chosen at random.
- College Bound Students: The essays will be reviewed, and the 2 highest scoring essays will be chosen as winners to receive a $325 Scholarship each. All remaining essays will be submitted for a random drawing with 1 $100 Scholarship winner chosen at random.
- Scholarship applications, typewritten essays and College Transcript/College Acceptance letters MUST be received at the PEF Div. 240 P.O. Box 5191, Albany NY, 12205 by Friday June 30, 2023, COB. Winners will be announced by Friday July 21, 2023.
*There must be at least 5 entries received for each category (Full Time, Part Time, College Bound) for the Scholarships to be awarded. If this threshold is not met, then the Scholarships for that Category will be Awarded as Follows: Up to 3 $500 Scholarships/ Full Time College Students, up to 3 $250 Scholarships/ Part Time College Students & up to 3 $125 Scholarships awarded for College Bound Students.
